We made it to Beijing, and Day 1 is over. Our flight arrived about 4:30 am, an hour or so earlier that expected. To say we were ready to get off the plane is an understatemen. Jack did very well. He slept for awhile - it's hard to say how long as I wasn't able to track time very well.
About midway through the flight, Jack started saying, "Get. Off. Plane. Go. Home" which is exactly how we all felt. I felt bad for him, but he was a real trooper through the whole thing.
We had to wait awhile to get into our hotel rooms, since we arrived so early. But the hotel was also very accomodating to let us into our rooms by about 8:00. We slept until early afternoon, and then ventured out for a walk. We had a map from the hotel to a park, but never found it. We're not even sure we were heading in the right direction.
Our stroller didn't survive the flight very well - one of the wheels is ruined so we have to try to run it on three wheels. John and Anne went to the mall to try to find a new one, but no luck. So, tomorrow we head out for tours of the city with our three-legged stroller.
I haven't been able to access my blog from China, so I'm emailing my posts. Hope this works, and will try to get some pictures up sometime soon.
Glad to hear you made it safely there. I'm so excited for you!
